RELIEF SCULPTURES

Depicted below are a series of relief-sculptures, from light-hearted and whimsical, to introspective and surreal. Each of my creations tell a story, which is different for each viewer… I strive to capture a single moment, which generates questions within that frame of time.

CURRENT EDITIONS ARE SOLD OUT!… Please DO NOT place an order, without contacting us first. Framing is extra, as there are many options available (again, please contact for more information).

‘FLYING BLIND’

Single panel relief (18″ x 24″)
Based on a short story, ‘The boy in the blindfold’ (about a boy, who follows his dreams, on the back of a wooden dolphin). (first edition OUT OF STOCK)

‘THE ENCOUNTER’

Two panel relief (each panel is 18″ x 24″) – OUT OF STOCK
Based on an illustration, about two lifestyles clashing. The message goes deeper than superficial observation. Is the biker antagonizing the businessman, or just enjoying the ride?… Is the businessman nervous, or envious of the approaching free-spirit?… This piece breaks the genre barrier, as it enhances any environment with a whimsical taste of both humor and social commentary.

‘INDIAN MEMORIAL’

Two-panel relief (each panel is 18″ x 24″) – OUT OF STOCK
Inspired by the time we lived on the Indian reservation in the Pacific Northwest, I frequently talked with a tribal elder, who would comment how he wanted to be buried on his old 1927 Indian motorcycle… Applying some caricature to the piece, lifts the weight of being taken to literally, allowing it to become both insightful and powerful.

‘LADIES NIGHT’ (aka ‘The Geriatric Gyrators’)

Single panel (18″ x 24″)
These six adorable lads are based on a collection of senior stripper caricatures I created , which can be seen in many of my projects. My ambition is to capture the joy in aging, and prove that, “just because we grow up, doesn’t mean we have to grow old”.

More relief sculptures to come…
